2v2 to small goals that never stops. Score and you stay on. The pair that was scored on runs off and a new pair attacks right away with a new ball.

Set up
- Mark a field about 25 yards long and 20 yards wide with a small goal in the middle of each end line.
- Make two teams and split each team into pairs. The pairs wait beside the goal their team defends.
- The coach stands at the side, at halfway, with all the balls.
- Space
- 25 x 20 yards with a small goal at each end
- You need
- 2 small pop-up goals · 4 cones for the corners · Lots of balls with the coach · Pinnies in two colors
How to play
- One pair from each team starts on the field. The coach plays a ball in and they play 2v2.
- Score in the other team’s goal. There are no keepers.
- After a goal the pair that scored stays on. The pair that was scored on runs off, and their next pair runs on.
- The coach plays the new pair a ball at once, so the winners have to get back fast.
- Ball out of play? The coach plays a new ball to the pair that didn’t kick it out.
- Play for 4 to 5 minutes. Which team scored the most?
Coaching points
- Talk to your partner: who goes to the ball and who covers?
- With the ball: pass when the defender comes to you, dribble when you have space.
- After you score, turn and get back. The next pair is already coming.
- Defend as a pair: one presses the ball, the other covers behind.
Easier
Leave out “winner stays”: both pairs run off after every goal. Make the field smaller and the goals bigger.
Harder
Play 3v3, allow only 3 touches each, or a pair may stay on for 3 goals at most so everyone gets a turn.
