Terms of Service
Last updated October 28, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and ClearSoccer (“we”, “us”) about using ClearSoccer, the lineup, rotation and stats app at clearsoccer.com and its installable app. By creating an account or using ClearSoccer, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use ClearSoccer for a club, you also agree to them on the club’s behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Children may not create accounts or use ClearSoccer themselves.
- One account is for one person. Keep your password private and use a password you don’t use anywhere else. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Use an email address you can read, so invites and sign-in codes reach you.
- Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
2. The service
ClearSoccer itself is free for coaches, players and families, always (a club may bill its own families its fees here; see Club fees below). The club plan gives a club its club features (announcements to the club’s families and coaches, the club overview, the club’s players list, tryouts, making new club teams, bringing in teams coaches already run, coach and club admin invites, the club’s website and events, fields and practice schedules, and billing club fees):
- Not billed yet: we don’t charge for the club plan yet. Until we start, every club has it free, whatever its size, and no free trial starts.
- Price: a club with 5 teams or fewer has the club plan free, with nothing to pay and no card needed. A club with more teams pays for each team above 5 (a club with 8 teams pays for 3), billed monthly or, when we offer it, yearly, as the club admin chooses. We show the price before you pay.
- Free trial: the first time a club has more than 5 teams, it gets a 30-day free trial (a club gets only one), and nothing is charged during it.
- Billing: the club plan is a subscription billed through Stripe, our payment processor. It renews each period until it is cancelled, and Stripe charges the card the club admin gave when subscribing.
- Number of teams: before each renewal we count the club’s teams, and the next period is billed for that number. Adding or removing a team during a period changes the price from the next period on; nothing is charged or refunded for the rest of the current one. A club back at 5 teams or fewer pays nothing for its next period and keeps every club feature.
- Cancelling: a club admin can cancel at any time from Manage billing on the club’s Club plan page. The plan then stops at the end of the period already paid for.
- When the plan isn’t paid: once its free trial ends, a club with more than 5 teams needs a paid subscription. If it has none, or its subscription ends or can’t be paid, the club’s features pause: announcements, the club overview, the club’s players list, new tryouts, making new club teams, bringing in teams coaches already run, coach and club admin invites, changes to the club’s website and events, adding fields and making or publishing practice schedules, and new club fees, fee reminders and setting up online payments. Nothing is deleted, the club’s website stays online, families can still pay fees already billed, the club’s teams keep working for their coaches, chats keep working, and the features come back when the club subscribes or is back at 5 teams or fewer. A club with 5 teams or fewer never pauses.
Club fees. A club can bill the families of its players its own fees (such as a season fee) and keep its books here:
- Between the club and the family: the club decides what it charges, when it is due, payment plans, discounts and refunds, and answers families’ questions about them. ClearSoccer isn’t a party to that arrangement.
- Paying online: a club that takes payments in the app sets up a Stripe account through ClearSoccer and accepts Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. A family’s card payment is processed by Stripe, our payment processor, and paid out to the club’s Stripe account and bank. ClearSoccer keeps a platform fee from each online payment, shown to the club on its Fees page before it sets up online payments; it covers Stripe’s card processing fee. When a club refunds an online payment, the matching part of the platform fee is refunded with it.
- Paying the club directly: a club can also record cash, checks and other payments it takes itself; ClearSoccer only keeps the record.
We are always improving ClearSoccer, so features may be added, changed or removed. We aim to keep it running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during updates.
3. What you add
Rosters, photos, games, lineups, stats, notes, messages and everything else you add (“your content”) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and process it to run ClearSoccer, for example to suggest lineups or show stats. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire.
You are responsible for your content, and you confirm that you have the right to add it. In particular:
- Children’s information and photos: only add a child’s information or photo if you have permission from their parent or guardian, for example through your club’s or league’s registration. Remove it if a parent or guardian asks.
- Only what the team needs: don’t add sensitive details such as medical information, home addresses, or government ID numbers.
- Family contacts: use parents’ and guardians’ phone numbers and emails only for team matters.
- Tryouts: if your club runs a tryout here, use the families’ details only for that tryout and the teams it picks for, email them only about it, keep coaches’ notes fair and about soccer, and delete the tryout when you no longer need it. Your club decides who is picked and how, and answers families’ questions about it.
4. Sharing and invites
Coaches and clubs decide who can see their team. Parents and adult players can also invite family to follow a player: invite only people your family trusts, since followers see the team’s schedule and lineups with teammates’ names. Anyone with a lineup share link can open it, so share it only with people you trust, such as your team’s families. An invite link works once for the person it was sent to; don’t forward it to someone else. Club admins can see and change every team in their club, including its roster, family contacts and coach notes, can read and write in its team chat, and set each team’s name, logo and details. A coach’s own team joins a club only when both its head coach and a club admin agree. Once it is linked, the club’s admins can see and change everything on it, like the club’s other teams, and its head coach keeps coaching it. Either side can end that later: the head coach takes the team out, or the club removes it. The club can’t delete a team that joined it; only its head coach can.
5. Acceptable use
Please use ClearSoccer the way a good teammate would. Don’t:
- break the law, or harass, bully, threaten or embarrass anyone, especially a child;
- add someone’s information or photo without the right to, or use another family’s information outside the team;
- pretend to be someone else, or join a team you don’t belong to;
- try to get into accounts or information you aren’t allowed to see, or test, probe or get around our security;
- copy, scrape or collect information from ClearSoccer with bots or scripts, or overload it;
- upload viruses or other harmful code, or use ClearSoccer to send spam;
- use chat or club announcements for spam or for ads that have nothing to do with the team or club, or keep messaging someone who asked you to stop;
- share a child’s personal details in a chat, such as where they live, their school, their phone number or their health;
- resell ClearSoccer or use it to build a competing product.
In chat, be kind: write what you’d say in front of the kids and the other families. Everyone in a chat can read it. When a team is in a club, the club’s admins can read and write in the team chat too, and a team’s coaches and its club’s admins can delete messages there. A club is responsible for the announcements it sends; we only deliver them.
6. Calendars, leagues and other services
ClearSoccer can read schedules from calendar links and league sites you connect, import roster files exported from other apps, and read schedules and rosters from pictures you pick. Reading a picture uses AI and can get things wrong, so check what it fills in before you add it. Those services belong to others, and we aren’t responsible for them or for the accuracy of what they publish. Only connect links you are allowed to use. We may stop reading from a site if it asks us to, if it changes, or if reading it would break its rules.
7. Lineups, stats and game decisions
Lineup suggestions, ratings (including tryout ratings), stats, the lineup outlook and the live game clock are tools to help coaches. They are estimates, not promises, and they aren’t official league records or the official game time. Coaches make the decisions about who plays where and for how long, and remain responsible for players’ safety and for following their league’s rules.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using ClearSoccer at any time, and ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts a child at risk, or puts ClearSoccer or other people at risk. Where it is reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem or get a copy of your content. Sections 3 (responsibility for your content), 9, 10, 11 and 12 continue after your use ends.
9. Disclaimers
ClearSoccer is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don’t promise that ClearSoccer will be uninterrupted, error-free or that your content will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose, such as by printing the rotation sheet.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of ClearSoccer. Our total liability for any claim about ClearSoccer is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of content you added or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to solve the problem together. Any dispute that can’t be solved that way will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may also bring a claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use ClearSoccer after that means you accept the new terms.
14. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about ClearSoccer. If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them if ClearSoccer changes hands.
