Set up
- Make groups of 4 to 6. Each group gets 3 cones in a triangle, about 12 yards apart.
- Put one player at each cone and the extra players at the starting cone. The first player there has the ball.
- Space
- Triangle with 12-yard sides
- You need
- 3 cones per group · 1 ball per group (2 for the harder version)
How to play
- Pass to the player at the next cone.
- Follow your pass: run to that cone and join the line there.
- The receiver takes a first touch out of their feet, then passes on to the next cone.
- Keep it going around the triangle. Switch direction after 2 minutes.
Coaching points
- Inside of the foot, ankle locked, toe up.
- Open your body to the next cone before the ball arrives.
- First touch out of your feet, toward where you pass next.
- Call the name of the player you pass to.
Easier
Make the triangle smaller, about 8 yards a side, and allow two or three touches.
Harder
Two touches only, then one touch. Then add a second ball that starts at another cone.
