Small-Sided Soccer Game
Endless 1v1
The coach plays a ball in and the first player from each line goes 1v1 to the small goals. The moment it ends, the next ball comes in. Play never stops.
Step 1 of 9
Each team lines up beside the goal it defends. A attacks the right goal, B the left one. The coach has the balls.

Set up
- Mark a field about 20 yards long and 15 yards wide. Put a small goal in the middle of each end line, facing in.
- Make two teams. Each team lines up beside the goal it defends, just off the field.
- The coach stands at the middle of one side with all the balls.
- Space
- 20 x 15 yards with a small goal at each end
- You need
- 2 small pop-up goals · 4 cones for the corners · Lots of balls with the coach · Pinnies in two colors
How to play
- The coach plays a ball into the middle. The first player from each line runs in and they play 1v1.
- Score in the other team’s goal. There are no keepers.
- When the ball goes in or out, both players jog back to the end of their own line.
- The coach plays the next ball in right away and the next two go. That is the endless part: no waiting.
- Keep score by team. Play 2 to 3 minutes, rest, then go again.
Coaching points
- Be ready! Watch the coach so you can go the second the ball comes in.
- Attack fast: take your first touch forward, toward the goal.
- Use a fake or a change of speed to get past, then shoot low and early.
- Defender: sprint to the ball, then slow down, get low and stay between the ball and your goal.
Easier
Make the field shorter and the goals wider. For the youngest, the coach rolls the ball a little closer to the attacker.
Harder
Winner stays on: the scorer stays in and the next player from the other line comes in. Or call two from each line and play 2v2.
